NobbyNobbs Report post Posted April 10, 2009 i'm having a very bad time at the moment. its been a bad month at home, lots of change, father been ill... and i'm not coping. i can't deal with anything, i keep crying and i'm so stressed. then i get stressed that i'm worrying my parents by being stressed! my parents do their best to reassure me, but its not getting any better. i managed to get myself off antidepressants a few months ago and have been better off them than i was on, but i'm beginning to consider going back on them because i can't take much more of feeling like i am at the moment. on top of all this i'm ill with some kind of stomach issue, and have been referred to a specialist at the hospital, but they can't tell me when i'll actually get to see a doctor, (they said perhaps 3 weeks). i can't eat, am in constant pain and am exhausted all the time, so thats not helping! not really looking for anything response wise, but i needed to say it somewhere, and i feel comfortable enough here. NobbyNobbs Report post Posted April 29, 2009 WOW! i saw the CAMHS guy yesterday. i think my mom had spoken to him on the phone before hand to give him notice in advance how i am feeling. i and my mother said we thought i might need some CBT to help, fully expecting to be told either that wasn't possible, or there was a 2 year waiting list for group therapy (which would be a nightmare) but... i have my first session next week!!!! the CAMHS guy is qualified to do it and since we're done with all the pre-assessment work, he's gonna start doing CBT with me weekly. he's also recommended some anti-depressants which work well for people with AS. i was on citalopram for years, got off it, and in desperation started taking it again recently. it sent me nuts, i didn't sleep for 4 days. he said that happens with AS, the citalopram makes us over-alert and this increases stress and anxiety, rather than helping with it. he even said he would call my GP if she refused to let me have this particular drug

Kinda Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Hi NobbyNobbs You don't mind if I ask what drug your therapist is recommending. My son is on citalopram but it doesn't seem to be working for him. Kinda
