julie1 Report post Posted May 15, 2010 i got my dd2 statement today with all the changes made. She starts her new school after half term, so we do not have to go to tribunal anymore. We ARE SO HAPPY our daughter can now go to school like everyone else. She will get speech therapy every week and speciallist support throught each day. Also she is pleased to be going to school with her brother and sister. Only thing now is that transport are saying she needs an escort which has been oked with LA but she doent want an escort, she wants to be like everyone else. They say its because of the epililepsy, but she said it will make her different again just like her other school where she only has 1 hour a day except wednesday where she has 4 hours. She is dead set aganist this i only hope this doesnt develop into something major for my daughter and we can convince her its a good thing. And will allow her to go to school all day. I never told my dd the escort was for her my other childeren did as taxis told them. Still anyway no tribunal for us, it took from last July until today to sort out schooland statement im so glad its over.

julie1 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 just thought i would let you all know we have worked out the escort thingthat was upsetting my dd2. we told her the escort is there as my dd2 and dd1 are in the car and the driver is male, so its the law. it caused a few questions at first that the driver might freek out at, but i told the girls they had nothing to worry about and its a law the new goverment put in place to proctect the children and the drivers. they seem ok with this i will have to expain the conversation to the driver. we have known him for the last 18 months and he has his own daughter with ASD so im sure he will understand. My dd2 has her 1st vist to stay alone on thursday so fingers crossed.
