Hello My name is Daniel and I am 20 years old from Manchester. I have currently started on the long road after much suffering in silence for years to getting a diginosis for my years of obessional and social anxiety behavior. Having come across this site its nice to know that I'm no longer on my own. The reason why I have never got help sooner is because my mother said she didnt want to feel she had failed me despite me knowing there has always been something phsycologically wrong ever since I was very young. I have gone for years with out any real friends and since leaving secondry school 4 years ago I have really not been apart of society and basically living in a bubble away from the world.

 

Im just getting use to being on here and reading up so I just wanted to say hello.

Hi Daniel, Im Quite new here as well but have been very supportive so far and a place i come to when knowone else understands how you are feeling.....my 11 year old son has anxiety and more so trying to dx at moment .......lindy

Hi, All i can say is get all the info that you can and i am still learning about aspergers all of my 4 children have it i think but trying to get my 11 year old dx ....but i have to say my eldest now 32 is doing well with IT business on line and my 20 year old son is doing a mechanical engineering apprenticeship.....but let it sink in im trying to and learning more stuff everyday so i can understand how to cope ....lindy

Hi Daniel and Welcome to the Forum

I think it probably is a time of mixed feelings.

I have Ben who is 12 and was DX AS about a year ago.

There are lots of adults with AS or possible AS who have joined the Forum in the last few months and so I hope you will soon feel you have some company.
