Steven Neary

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm still here in the background, dropping by every now and again to read and catch up with you all. Very busy with a big project which I'll tell you about when it gets off the ground.

Earlier this year I posted about Steven Neary whose father, Mark, had been taken ill with flu and three days respite had turned into a stay of months and months, against both their wishes. Anna Raccoon wrote about it recently.

The good news is, after almost a year, Steven came home for good on Christmas Eve.

Happy new year to you all!

I am really glad.

The whole thing should have never happened. Well done campaigners. :notworthy:

I'm glad it is all finally over for them both.

But what hell have they both been through.

I know SS get criticised whatever they do. But in this case they seemed unaware of how "their" behaviour could be causing the behaviour they were trying to stop. And they seemed to think that they could just do what they wanted with him regardless of his father's wishes or stephens wishes.

And they did not seem very clued up on autism.

Cases like this are really scary, because it could happen to any of us.

I was reading about this yesterday in one of the national papers. It's interesting to see the full judgement (I've only skimmed it so far!)- thanks for the link Mark.

Good on you. I hope you and Steven have managed to successfully pick up the threads of your lives again.
