morgana Report post Posted July 14, 2011 Can anyone tell me why my son has 32.5 hours on his statement when he is only at school for 31 hours and 15 minutes a week? Could the extra 1 hour and 15 minutes be for the time before school, like 15 minutes a day before the bell? We were told he could not be there before the bell as there was no one to be with him. Many thanks for any replies.
Grace Report post Posted July 14, 2011 Hi, 32.5 hours is the 'standard' amount for full-time hours including breaks and lunchtimes. School starts at 9am, but most schools open their doors at say 8.50. However, it could also be to allow the learning assistant time with the teacher at the beginning of the day to discuss plans for the day or even time at the end of the day to give you feedback. Your son might finish at 3.15, but other schools can finish at 3.30pm. I used to drop my as soon after doors opening as I chose and the learning assistant would always be there.
