alisthelioness Report post Posted April 26, 2013 Hi, I'm just starting a PhD in the next few months. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome in 2011. I didn't receive any funding or support during my undergraduate studies. I wondered if anyone had had any success getting a grant for a PhD or higher education? I have looked up the DSA and enquired at the university but we're still quite unsure. Many thanks, Alis

Tanya52 Report post Posted April 27, 2013 You could be entitle for DSA. Ask your uni’s disability advisor to help you with your application to SFE. They can arrange a free DSA assessment for you. There’s a good assessment centre: University of Derby nnac Assessment CentreUniversity of Derby, BuxtonDirect Line: 01332 594414Email: UDAC@derby.ac.uk My assessor Debbie Enever a freelance DSA assessor is very professional , everything went smoothly. The assessor makes recommendations and if everything is approved, you could receive funding for:Disability support such as tuition + equipment + books + printing materials
