chyandour Report post Posted February 26, 2014 Hi there, I have a 10 year old daughter who is under the CAMHs team and although this is great for the mental health side of things, what I feel my daughter really needs is like minded kids to meet and socialise with. I am having real trouble finding any groups or activities aimed at her age group. I have even tried finding other children that she can penpal with just so she has something to look forward to She is in mainstream school and is doing very well (so far) but she has no friends at all and is terribly lonely which is breaking my heart... I think that her meltdowns would not be so hard on her if she had other children that "thought" more like her instead of having to try and struggle to think like the children in her mainstream school. Any help would be greatly appreciated ps if there are any mums and dads in Cornwall feeling the same as me... maybe we should start up our own social gathering ... I know that since my daughter takes up so much of my time now that I feel isolated and lonely too, or if anyone wants to meet up have a coffee while the kids are in school that would be great also. xxx
