dotmarsdotcom Report post Posted October 13, 2014 I'm just firing in a couple of subjects to start new threads. this new thread.... do younglin's think classical music is cool? (like some of us oldies do?)
Mihaela Report post Posted October 13, 2014 I'm an oldie, but I still thought it was cool as a child. My love affair with classical music began very early, when listening to my mother playing Chopin on the piano. My musical tastes have never changed and are very eclectic, but for music (and any art form) to truly mean something to me it must either be intrinsically 'poetic' and moving, or evoke memories from episodes of my life. FloobyFloob Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Yeah, duh. Freddie Mercury was a fan of all the classical music stars when he was alive. Plus the music, unlike modern artists, use technical skill which is much more commendable.
Dijac Report post Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) I'm taking my son, (15) to a violin concert in 2 weeks - he asked to go - not strictly classical, as is electric violin, but he loves it. The musician is called Lindsay Stirling. Edited October 14, 2014 by Dijac
dotmarsdotcom Report post Posted October 17, 2014 I've heard of Lindsay, she's fun. hope you and your lad enjoy the gig. (she's a sort of compromise between old school and new school?) all the best

There are still modern artists who use technical skill, and a lot of it at that
