Sally44 Report post Posted October 30, 2014 As no-one has responded, and I don't know myself - might I suggest you try the NAS direct? Alternatively, when I was completing DLA for my son, I got in touch with an independent benefits advice service which was run by my local authority. You might have something similar in your area. And you need to make sure it is INDEPENDENT advice you are getting and help with completing the DLA form.
Mihaela Report post Posted October 30, 2014 I think it's now called PIP, rather than DLA. My advocate has been talking about it.
trekster Report post Posted November 11, 2014 Pip is for certain postcodes and new adult claimants
Aeolienne Report post Posted November 27, 2014 I had a phone conversation today with the NAS's welfare adviser. She reckons I would score at most 6 for the PIP eligibility criteria (i.e. 4 for "engaging with other people face-to-face" and 2 for "making budgeting decisions") which falls below the 8-point threshold. My driving hangups do not count towards the mobility component, unfortunately.
