lee2010 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Me and my partner have decided to go down the route for assesement for my son and daughter 10 and 8 years old. Always feared going down the route but knowing what it like to live with without help when your younger and going into adulthood we both feel they need all the help they can get. I am diagnosed hfa my father was aspergers and my sister was aspergers she took her own life at 22. My father and sister knew they was autistic as do i but the school dont see it, as they are good at school mt daughter struggles but my son excells. Their is so many traits i see and have always known. I think it is going to be very hard to even get an assesement for them here in Hull as i did and my father did. Am i right to go down the route of getting them assessed ? considered for so many years every year it just seems to become more difficult for them both
sunworld Report post Posted July 11, 2015 As a mum to a newly diagnosed ten year old, I would always say get it checked out if something doesn't feel right. The worst you can be is wrong, eh? Best of luck!
