reuby2 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 My son who is 7, received a diagnoses of ASD in Nov. So far I have picked up bits and pieces from the forum but no proffessional has mentioned that diet or supplements can help.I now feel that I want to try to help him however I can. I wonder where to start really and I would really appreciate anyones thoughts on the various diets mentioned and why they are helpful. Thank you. call me jaded Report post Posted December 27, 2005 There is a urine sample test which Sunderland University do (cost ?60) which will tell you whether gluten and casein (a dairy protein) are a problem. The Sunderland Protocol gives an excellent overview and the most effective order to do things in. http://osiris.sunderland.ac.uk/autism/durham2.htm If you can get to Newcastle to hear Paul Shattock talk (they do an annual conference there every spring) he is both entertaining and informative. Read everything you can. Ask questions.

big mamma Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Hi Reuby, No - they send you out a kit and you send back a urine sample for analysis.
