O/T just for fun logic puzzle

Recommended Posts

Try this out just for fun I think it is called Einstien puzzles.

Pretty easy really

Einstein's Puzzle

This puzzle can reputedly only be solved by 2% of the world's population. It is known as 'Einstein's Puzzle' ...however for me the best part is he never wrote it...

Facts:

1: There are 5 houses in 5 different colours.

2: In each house lives a person with a different nationality.

3: These 5 owners drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet.

4: No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same drink.

Hints: from the following facts, can you determine WHO KEEPS FISH?

1: The Brit lives in a red house.

2: The Swede keeps dogs as pets.

3: The Dane drinks tea.

4: The green house is on the left of the white house.

5: The green house owner drinks coffee.

6: The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.

7: The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.

8: The man living in the house right in the centre drinks milk.

9: The Norwegian lives in the first house.

10: The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.

11: The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.

12: The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.

13: The German smokes Prince.

14: The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

15: The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

The ?????????????? keeps fish ... assuming 'to the left of' means immediately to the left and that the houses are ordered with 1 on the left as you look at them and 5 on the right ...

I did this over on Steve's site yesterday

Perhaps the solution needs to be a hidden for a while, or the original post to say 'don't scroll down unless you are getting really mad and want the answer !!!!' :wallbash:

It's amazing how much time you can spend avoiding boring housework,

It's just like the logic puzzles in the books they sell at the news agent .... I'll take my solution out so people can have a go - you just need to draw some rows and columns and put ticks and crosses in as you go through the clues. I used Excel's rows and columns 'cos I'm lazy!

Hello everyone,

My solution.

007paul007 Yes sure, thats no problem,

wacco got it correct as I see it over at mine,

MotherEve you too were correct here.

I suggest we all let someone else have a try after all. Maybe then the person who answers it correctly this next time will do the honour of placing a puzzle here for others to try, and the person answering that will do the same and so on, a continual puzzle thread so to speak. That was the whole intention over at mine but it didn't work out like that.
