Autism Research Could Lead To Lab Test

Recommended Posts

Researchers may soon have a whole new way to diagnose and treat children with autism.

Autism is a genetic condition which alters communication and behavior.

Dr. Cindy Molloy heads up a team of researchers conducting a breakthrough study trying to find out how genetics and the immune system play a role in autism.

Molloy has more than professional interest in the disease. Her daughter, Shannon, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three-years-old.

Thanks that was interesting.Does this mean do you think one day they might be able to do some kind of test whilst the child is still in the womb to see if they are going to have autism a bit like they can do a test for downs syndrome?
