trance Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Hi all I posted a while back and still awaiting that referral for the asd with his teacher and ed pysch saying he doesnt display asd traits!! All I say is try living with him. Meanwhile my partner went for an adhd referral and they are investigating this and also said he maybe aspergers which came as a total shock to him and us although makes sense now. So can asd and aspergers be genetic like adhd? as both son and partner are like 2 peas in a pod!!! Hope you are all keeping well. I tried to come on a while ago but was shut because of the hacker thing. xx
Zemanski Report post Posted June 5, 2006 yes it does have a genetic factor but also probably environmental triggers. http://www.asd-forum.org.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=8512 Z
yoyo Report post Posted June 5, 2006 'So can asd and aspergers be genetic like adhd? ' I believe ASD and AS are genetically inherited. You say your partner and son are like peas in a pod. I was adopted and only met my AS natural father two years ago. Even though I was not brought up by him and knew nothing about AS other than that my adoptive mother said I was not right in the head, my father and I are exactly alike in every respect including our AS traits. One of his sons has AS and his granddaughter also has AS. Yoyo
