Zemanski Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I got an email from the Bank of Scotland this morning telling me to follow a link because of a security upgrade. I am not a customer of the Bank of Scotland - very suspicious If you get this email do not follow the link, if you are a customer go to the official website and contact the bank from there instead. lil_me Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I get these all the time for various banks. Always worth remembering NO bank will contact you via email requesting information especially for security. Never follow any links from banks, or Paypal, always send to their email address that deals with spoof emails. They look very legit, the links take you to a page that looks like the official site but isn't and you can usually tell as the address in the bar is different. Sojourned Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I always follow the links, then when it asks for my info I enter in a series of offensive remarks. I like to think it's winding somebody up somewhere.
