  1. Hi mumble,

Thank you very much for introducing me the Mental Health Org. in U.K.

I downloaded some and copied to ipod.

Mostly, I am lying on the floor, bed for relaxing but I try to sleep but I can't.

"Taking a break is good for your mental health and wellbeing. It's important to take some time out to relax." is good for me now? ah.. I don't have any interests... go to shopping, watching movies, music concert and etc. from my childhood.

In recently, I just go outside for walking, shopping for meals and coin laundry.

i meet my cat where he is living different place once or twice a month.

The strong med makes me tired more. So, it is hardly difficult.

    Thanks for your advice.

    Goody,

  2. Hi Sheuk,

Thank you very much for your comment. I found Nytol here in Japan. I am single and living alone but sleeping well in night is important for me. I talked tons of people but your comment might be helpful for day-to-day life.

    Very Best Regards,

    Goody,

  3. BTW, do we fully trust advice that we get on the net? I only collect many variety of informations on the net and I refer those informations and apply to the real life and situation. The only thing that we should avoid when we advice to others is that psychological approach. In other words, mind-control-like, I think.

The important thing is to have the knowledge of making the right decision communicating here and other websites.

Well.. this is my understanding and what I've been doing.

    Goody,

    :)

Face to face communication /voice to voice/ Letters are priority other than is unknown world and less important.

    Goody, ;)

  5. Hi all,

I have insomnia in associated with Asperger's Syndrome(PDD ?) Does anybody taking medication when we fall in to insomnia ?

I'm so exhausted nowadays. I wanted to know how people Aspie cope with insomnia?

    Regards,

  6. http://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Welch...|1087|1272|2335

Is this any good? Our kids like it but I know the grape might be a problem.

If not try health food shops. I used to buy fruit drinks from them which had no additives in but they were concentrates in a bottle. I cant remember what the brand was though.

Failing that, write to Sainsbury's explaining your problem and ask if they can locate some from any of their branches. Write directly to Justin!

Some baby juices also have peach in

I like Welch's juice and we can buy it from vending machine. Well, it is small bottle one. I like grape one. Thanks for your advice.

  7. I've been really struggling with my sleep again lately, I know that if this pattern goes on I will slip back into insomnia and my coping will be out the window. I'm thinking of asking the GP to put me back on sleeping tablets. This is not the time to be feeling like a zombie, far too much that needs doing.

Anyone else on here have to use sleeping tablets to get normal sleep?

    Hi,

I have insomnia from childhood and I didn't know that it is associated with Asperger's Syndrome. But now, I've been taking sleeping meds but minor one, called Ledormin in addition to minor tranquilizer. That's enough for me but sometimes in these days, I may need more strong sleeping med. However, considering the side effect having it, like thirsty, sleepy till noon... things like that. So, I keep having the minor one.

    Regards,

  8. Hi Dee,

In my case, I have minor problem for Autistc Spectrum, Asperger's Syndrome. But I had worked over 25 years and it was hard. Now, I know what kind of functional problems that i have.

First thing that I did was to know myself reading books and correcting many informations on the net. Now, i am the only person what kind of fuctional problems i have. Not doctors and professionals. It isn't curable and it continues with my life. The life goes on; How we cope with it.

    Goody,

What is the key point difference between Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. There is a speech delay for Autism but there isn't speech delay in Asperger's Syndrome. Other than is in the myth, I think. So, we call AS as PDD nowadays. Is it correct?

    Goody,

    (Yoshi)

  9. i have insomia and AS aswell as depression and anxiety do you have depression and anxiety? you get any support and help with anything from services available? i know how u feel personally as i can't sleep at night as brain doesn't switch off properly due to MH probs going on all time! can't shut off which drives mad crazy alot time! im on anti-depressants which helps me sleep at night and lift my mood slighty but not much affect on me to be honest!i get exhausted due to my AS /MH probs and how long you felt like that? i have good family support and understanding of AS/MH probs and few close friends that get who i am and how i affected by this conditions! so i suppose i grateful but lucky to have that available to me people seem to keep away as don't quite understand due to awareness and information together that why these issues need to be publicised and more services of support is needed!

Thank you very much for your replying.

I have insomnia, depression, anxiety, panic-attack, tantrum(breaking many things and throw away)and functional problem of stomach and bowels..... and many others in associated with Asperger's Syndrome and minor Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Learning Disabilities are okay because I already retired. I don't have a family and I really love living alone. I also have an Internethobia for many years and it will not to be disappeared from my mind.

My parents, relatives and friends, all left from myself. However, for me, they are ignorant as well as my physician and other professionals. So, I may be lucky in that sense.

    Regards,

    Goody

  10. Hi everyone,

As I mentioned about my mental problems in here and my account. I have isomania as we used to have Asperger's Syndrome patient. Its okay. I've been spending a daily life after I retired. I am single and living in Tokyo and no friends and relatives at all. How do I explain my mental and physical conditions to healthy people? People around here including professionals doesn't understand my mental condition at all. I have been exhausted at all. I've been medication but I don't want to have strong meds for the functional problem. People creates making noise which I dislike under the confirmation of professionals and ex-wife. I hear the noise after I go to bed and/or when I wake up middle of the night for going toilet. They may know the dulation of my sleeping meds.

I hope this wouldn't be the last posting to here.

Would you please give me some advice ?

    Goody,

  11. My 12 year old son was diagnosed yesterday with aspergers. We have to tell him this weekend as we have a large mullti-agency meeting on Monday at his school and then it may slip out from one of the teachers by accident. I would appreciate any advice on how to tell him. I have a printout from the NAS but parts of it didn't print.

    Hi Amelia,

Well.. the approacy may differ from the conditons. It isn't curable and not disease but functional problem. You and your family member support those and dig out some talent each own we Asperger's Syndrome people have.

I think. Sometime in a future, Aspie realize " I am the only person what kind of person, what different from others and what kind of functional problems I have" that would be a goal for us. There is a many bright future for ourselves. No one can refuse or interfere his/her bright future life.

    In my case,

I've been minor Autistic Spectrum, Asperger's Syndorm and LD. I realized those at the age of 49. "Knowing myself" I started that.

    Goody,

  12. Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, I posted on Meet & Greet recently. I have twins, soon to be 3 years old. I posted originally about my son who I know has autism (moderate has been suggested by the psychologist). He's not been formally diagnosed yet but the CARS form was done last week. There's loads of stuff going on with professionals and he will be diagnosed soon.

Anyway, this post is about his twin sister! She has some odd behaviour. I would call it odd but these are my only 2 children so they're all I've known. She is on the waiting list for the psychologist too. I've spoke to the psychologist in the past about her minor quirky ways and last week she suggested my daughter may be mildly affected by autism. I'm not too worried because it's so minor I think she will overcome the problems in time.

I would really appreciate any opinions you may have on her 'strange' behaviour. I personally do think there is some ASD there. This is what I think is strange:

If she has a cardigan/coat with a hood on, it ALWAYS has to be up, even if it's hot and sunny.

She absolutely refuses to move to a bed, says she doesn't like it. I bought her a bed a year ago and sold it 6 months later because there was no way she was going in a bed.

There's a small extra quilt hanging over the end of her cot which was used on cold nights. As it's warmer now, I took it off to put it away in the airing cupboard. She got very distressed and told me to put it back.

Shoe shopping is a complete nightmare. I took her to Clarks last week, you had to see it to believe it. She tried to hit the assistant, threw the new shoes, kicked/ screamed/shouted, tried to grab and throw the shoe gauge at the assistant (needless to say we didn't get any new shoes).

She refuses to wear anything in her hair. I put my hair in bunches (and her dollies), she went spare, pulling them out.

She refuses to wear skirts & dresses. If you can manage to get one on, she's hysterical/distressed.

Our car is parked in the drive, when we go anywhere, 99% of the time I turn right. When I turn left, she creates, shouts, screams, "wrong way" "other way".

She's just started having to walk up into the car (she used to be lifted in to the car seat). Recently she has to say "up the step" and get herself into the car. If I don't allow her to do this she creates, goes rigid on me and wants to get out and do it again.

I bought a different coloured beaker, same as she already has. She said she don't like it, pushes it away and won't drink out of it.

That's most of the things which I think are strange. Saying that, she has brilliant eye contact, is a little behind with her speech and is very good in social situations, maybe a little shy sometimes.

    Thanks for reading.

  14. Hello Goody, welcome to the forum. :)

I will remove the topic you started as "Yoshi", and we'll delete that account.

You can edit your posts for a limited time only (4 hours, I think). After that, if anything needs editing you will need to ask a moderator to do it. I hope that answers your question.

    hi Kathryn,

Thank you very much for the explanation. I will try to do that.

  15. Hi everyone,

It is very interesting forum because "Edit" function has been inactivated. It is not first time to use this forum software. There should be "Edit" function in somewhere. If somebody know how to edit after posting, then please email me.

    Latest revised version.

    I am new to here,

Life goes on with comfortable day-to-day living.

I have an Asperger's Syndrome and Learning Disability. LD is minor one but those mental functional problems make me tiredness all the time from early childhood. However, I realized that I had those mental and functional problems at the age of 49 years old and now I am going to 51 this September.

I visited doctors but the sad thing was all the doctors and professionals didn't want to understand my real mental condition. The reason why is that the time has passed and difficult to trace back my childhood, i suppose. I am the only person who knows and understand myself. Most of the doctors and professionals were ignorant.

    >:D<<'>

I had worked over 25 years at U.S. and North American compnies but remembering the mental and physical condition, It was hard for me but i had a good time when I could fit with the working environment with me.

I have a tantrum when the stress is accumulated. I broke many computers and communication devices. In addition i don't know what's I am going to do the stress is accumulated. Lots of minor autistic problem i had since early childhood. Nothing has been changed of course. Well... this is real my mental problem and it is the truth and fact that I need some comfortable living environment but none of them people around myself are ignorant.

Lots of minor autistic problem i had since early childhood. Just give me a chance to have a >:D<<'> >:D< >:D<<'> comfortable life.

BTW, I created two accounts and duplicated with Yoshi_ I am asking to Mod to delete Yoshi_ account. So, I am happy to keep in touch with everybody who has similar symptom in here to this account Goody. Please feel free to email me and I am always welcome your advice.
