  1. Hi Ashley, welcome to the forum!

What kind of feedback are you looking for? Will this be explained on the site?

    Hey, thanks for the reply!

Yes :). I'm just adding the survey now and trying to complete a short video that can be watched, the demo will then be uploaded for a go :).

  2. Hey guys,

I wanted to share with you my current University project. It's a two year project, currently in it's first year. It's a virtual environment where you play as a person with autism and get to experiences some of the difficulties, through their eyes.

I really need feedback as to improve this. I would be most grateful! A video and playable demo will be available later today.

Also if anyone is interested in helping with Autism software research (i.e beta testing autism software, please checkout the LAER group page. We'd be most appreciative.

    Thankyou x

  3. Thank you for offering but I have this fear of messing things up - I will think about it though

I don't mind checking stuff but have an incredible sense of self-doubt that means I never know if I can be of any use or not

PM me if there's anything you need doing and if I can I will - I can spare the time and would like to get involved in helping with something - just don't want any credit... if that makes sense  I'm complex

    Regards

    Darkshine

    That's great thankyou!

I'll probably message you in about 2 weeks since that's after exams and when i'll be working on it properly again :). Is this ok?

My Mum also had a lot of self doubt in terms of information she could provide, and she's been an awesome help!

Honestly though - I'm sure you wouldnt be able to mess anything up ;)...and even if anyone ever did - i'm an extremely laid back person :). I also get to see every detail being added so check over everything :).

But if you're too nervous to write anything to start with, even suggesting things you think would be useful so i can go away and ask people/research would be good!

It'd be great to have an extra hand to get it started tbh!

  4. Hello - I'm the pedantic spelling mistake person ;)

    here's a spelling mistake list :)

under conversation, general topics, politics - its says sit lack instead of sit back

in general tips - "do not worry if you say something embarassing" (embarrassing is correct spelling)

Social rules point 7 - need non aggressive to by hyphenated (non-aggressive)

    12. uninterest should be disinterest (twice here in this point)

    23. lets should be let's

Eye contact - non verbal potentially should be hyphenated as well (non-verbal)

Distortions of truth - scape goated is one word.

    Hope this helps :thumbs::D

    Best

    Darkshine

Ahh that's great thankyou! I've some people to read through it but they didn't seem to pick up on anything!

If you like, feel free to create an account on the wiki and add/edit anything you so please :).

  5. Hi, I live in Northern Ireland, my son was born with his left lower limb missing just below the elbow due to an amniotic fluid band in pregnancy, When he was 3 and started nursery his teacher had concerns about his development and these concerns have grew larger by the month, now he is in P1 and we are still fighting with doctors and paediatricians about Autism. Everything has been a battle, trying to get a Statutory assessment, DLA, getting appointments, even to the point that no-one knew of a diagnostic clinic and I mean no-one, not the doctor, the teacher, senco etc. I went on the computer and eventually found a clinic that take parental referrals and are willing to diagnose my son- rather than be palmed off.

    I have had it!!!!

How many other people are there in my area being palmed off with the same problems as me. No help out there for them what-so-ever. I want to start up a support group or something along them lines where I can share what I have learned and other people can share what they know and together we will maybe be able to get a full answer of how to help the children of our community.

I don't know how to do this though. I would love in a year or 2 to have a place where people can come in to get advice, for possibly youth clubs, summer schemes etc for the kids to get together and to know they are not on their own, there is people just like them everywhere. Also, being able to socialise with each other would hopefully make such a big difference to all their lives. My community needs this but how do I start? How do I get this started and then how do I expand it to become a haven for these kids???

    Please help.

    They are about.

I work for one in Harrow, London atm and it's a ###### amazing place!!

The support is amazing, each kid has minimum 1-1 support. Parents also have a lot of support, help with tribunals, courses, etc. We take them out on days out to the zoo, and help them at playscheme and in the building etc.

And i have to say, I absolutely love my job!
