  1. A-ha...Mrs P has just found 2 recipes for Blueberry wine! 1 is a sweet red desert wine the other is a dry red wine. To go with them there are ones for beetroot and for rhubarb too. However unless your into this already it would be expensive to start due to the equipment involved... She'll post them tomorrow if anyone wants them.

  3. The best way to find out where you're going wrong is to ask for feedback from whoever you have applied to. I have been seeking a new job since the start of the year. It was a long time since I had writen any sort of CV so I asked my boss and a couple of friends to check it over for me - they all picked out similar points to re-word/change. Is there someone you know you could ask to do the same in your case? My hit rate for interviews is around 70%. In my case the feedback from the first couple of interviews has allowed me to 'tidy up' my interview technique a lot. I have improved my performance as a result and the interview feedback is now very good. Still trying for a job but can at least console myself that I am getting the interviews, so I'm doing something right. Learn direct might be able to help with your CV and interview technique if you can't think of anyone to ask - they would be worth approaching at least. Hope that helps.

  4. You'll laugh at this waccoe I was made to learn it at school by a real old-fashioned headmaster who hailed from Yorkshire too. But I was at least 200 odd miles fom the nearest bit of Yorkshire at the time!

Ba' tat a river...he he. Ever tried to explain it to an out an out foriegner? Don't! Explaining cricket would be easier...

  5. Ah...Ilkley Moor.

A couple of years ago we were up there on holiday...I couldn't resist the temptation, being a yorkshire lad, so we phoned my mum and at the tops of our voices - and much to the bewilderment of our friends from france holidaying with us - gave her the best rendition of 'On Ilkley Moor Ba'tat' we could manage.

  6. Your history can be accessed via the icon that looks like a clock with an arrow on it pointing anti-clockwise that you can see in the toolbar at the top of the browser (well thats what it looks like on mine). If you left click on it a menu ought to appear on the left hand side of the page showing you the pages you pc has visited in the number of days you have set it to keep this recorded - the default number of days being 20.

    Hope that helps.

  7. That must have been a wonderful moment for the pair of you Daisy. A huge thrill.

The overlays are a good starting point for reading but are impossible to use for written work and would involve holding them in front of you to read of a whiteboard with - hardly pactical. I have seen first hand the difference these lenses can make for Irlens with a friends son who was able to do similar things with a book as your son has just done Daisy. Yet he had really struggled with the same book only days before. His confidence levels generaly went through the roof after that - there was no stopping him. There is much more to this whole area though as plenty of forum members will be able to tell you.

  8. Hi Debs,

You could always print off much of what you have said on here and give it to your support worker. You have explained yourself really well and they ought to be able to see exactly how it is they need to respond for you to not get distressed.

  9. There was an advert on the tv many moons ago that featured algebraic equations...within minutes I was sitting down writting him a page full of them to work out...and he did as well with virtually no help other than a swift explanation of what it meant.

  10. Hi TN, it really does sound like the people you work for could do with knowing some more about AS and the effect it has on you. Have you got a human resources dept or is your place not that big? If you have you could draw their attention to some of the stuff from the NAS and ask them to read it.

Hope things pick up for you soon.
