lisa35 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Just wanted to say thanks for all the support, over what has been an awful few weeks Finally our 12 yr old son is getting support at school, the SENCO & a support teacher who has worked with a boy with aspergers before is working in some lessons one to one with him in an attempt to diffuse misunderstandins and build bridges with the teaching staff and his peer group The year head had wanted our son to move classess but we disagreed as he only has two friends and it wouldve mena tleaving them. Its fab that the support is going to educate his peer group and teachers He is also allowed to use the SENCO room when ever he needs it, and is having some lessons in there for now, she is going to do some work re emotions/ facial expression, etc Al;ready, our son is more relaxed , just after two days! They also agree 100% that our son is aspergers( we re undergoing reassessment) So to anyone struggling, trust your instincts and keep battling It can be worth it!
