scotsguy80 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) I went to see the psychiatrist who I thought was going to diagnose me but she didn't diagnose me. I didn't mind that I wasn't diagnoses but I am curious why the psychiatrist didn't say before the session that I wouldn't be diagnosed for asperger's as a result of the session, as I have never received any form of psychiatric help and I have never received any. At the end of the session the psychiatrist spoke with a consultant psychiatrist and they both agreed that they detected no psychiatric conditions. The psychiatrist also said that she would refer me to a pyschologist and that I would receive a pyschological assessment. Lifevoyager Report post Posted August 28, 2009 It could be that it was an initial assessment to decide whether it is worth going for a full diagnostic assessment, which is why you have now been referred on to the psychologist- That's what happened to me, I have seen a psychologist who I hope will diagnose me. It would be worth asking the psychiatrist to clarify this for you. Good luck!
