Hi teppum and welcome to the Forum. :)

I was really interested to read your post.

I have just posted on another thread about our experiences.

I had previously researched the topic of AS and attachment disorder in great detail.

I thought a diagnosis of attachment disorder and AS was not allowed by the diagnostic criteria.

In our case a Specialist SALT,five CAMHS psychiatrists and two CAMHS psychotherapists spent three years debating and had to agree to disagree in the end.

I am sure you will find lots of help and advice here .

For the reasons above there are I think very few parents with children with attachment disorder here unless it is another child who does not have the AS diagnosis.

However one book that I found excellent suggested that a lot of the strategies parents and teachers might use to help children with AS are helpful for attachment disorder too.

Thanks for your reply Karen I've been pondering on what you said :notworthy:

I'm sitting on the fence regarding the duality of ASD and Attachment as they both seem to be similiar in how they present themselves, the difficulty I have is recognising what is nature and what is nurture. More pondering needed me thinks.

Thanks for your thoughts.
