Hello, New to this forum and have a question to ask.

My Son is ASD and 16 years old this year he is undergoing his GCSE’s. He will end secondary schooling in July 2013. He has secured a place at College for a two year fulltime course in Media and Design.

We have the opportunity to move to inner London in August 2013, where I believe he will have a much better chance of getting a job or to go onto University.

My son is happy to move but is concerned about his welfare at school or college in London (Islington).

1. Will he receive the same or similar care when he relocates?

2. As he has been offered college where we live now; will he be offered a similar course in London?

The move cannot be delayed any longer than August.

It is a great opportunity for my son’s future career being so close to the city of London.

Thanks in advance for any help received.

Michael

Hi Suze, Yes, His statement is updated every term, and has stayed the same (no changes or improvements). I'm going to contact his SEN officer on Monday I was just wondering if anyone knew of any difficulties in the transition to a new area?

Our transition was to a different authority, it should,nt matter if it is the same LA or not.Good job contacting the SENCO thats the first step they should then liase with his college etc.
