Kathryn Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Hi all, I have a friend who is moving down to Southampton in June. Her 10 year old son (AS) has a statement is at a school for ASD in our area and doing well. She wants to find a similar school there but is worried that under a different LEA he might end up back in mainstream, where he had a brief unhappy experience when he started school. At the moment they don't have an address to move to so can't apply to any schools yet, apparently. Depending on where he ends up, he will also have to transfer to secondary in a year's time (his current school goes up to 16). Does anyone have any useful information about schools or the system I can pass on to her? Please don't name any schools here, but pm me if you can help. (She knows I'm asking).
