I've had to keep the same hairstyle for years. When ds was younger I had it cut much shorter - it was so traumatic for him that I've never done it since. Quite like short hair too!Keep going with that No Smoking

hi sooze
george age 6 did the test at cahms 2 wks ago and answered box, which the nurse said is a asd way of answering the question, i thought it was a realy good test, i had never heard about it before that day. george was dx on friday with asd by the consultant at cahms. she also did alot of test which were photos of children with grandparents in they gardens and asked george what he thought was going on in the photo and he just stated that it was a photo of kids with people didnt mention anything about background and when asked where the children were he said on a bench, the answer is apprently in the garden with grandparents, but to george they were just sat on a bench but must say he wasnt wrong, but i think some of these test are very good.

hi
ds age 6 got a dx yesterday and today he has tryed a hotdog, this may sound strange but he has never never asked for one so i quickly made him one and he ate it all (no sauce not that brave) it was realy strange because yesterday i went to a nas meeting after dx and the subject was eating, so little steps are happening he says the next thing he wants to try is a wait for it a jacket potatoe, he has never had potatoe like this nor mashed to wet for him but i cannot push it i will have to wait for him to ask me for it, but i must say it has made my day today, espeacily after the stress of yesterday,

If it's the joints and not the muscles Omega 3 may help - works for my arthritis.hi call me jaded
george has been on omega 3 with his multi vits now for over 2 yrs, i think it may be muscle, because it seems to be the calf area and back of kneecap what hurts the most for him, omega 3 is a fab supplement we all take it
take care

hi karen and skye
thanks for the advise i am going to my dr for a referal for this he was under the hospital about a yr ago and they gave him some insoles which were higher on one side than the other to try and make him walk of the toes but these gave him blisters and made his legs sore, i am waiting to here back from them regarding another appointment, but i will push for it now, because now as skye has said it could be his tendons and i would rather no now rather than later, but his legs do seem to be getting worse, i spoke with cahms about it and they said to go to our dr, back with cahms and consultant tomorrow for his dx i think, my head is all over the place at mo, but thanks for your advise on this, i dont post that often but it is a realy good place on here when peeps like yourself take the time to reply to me and i carnt thank you enough for your advise,

Hi.I was wondering does george walk on his tipptoes at all ? Ben walks on his tipptoes which is not unusual in ASD.The tippptoe walking causes stress to the tendons that run from Ben's ankle up to the knee. When these get too tight he often complains that they feel stiff.Karen.hi karen
yes he is on his tiptoes alot so that could be the cause of the stiff legs didnt realise that it was asd related, thanks for the reply is they anything you do for ben what makes it a little easier i can only think of the rubbing i do in the mornings for him, dont realy wont to use any of those heat creams i think that would upset him the hotness on his skin.
thanks again

hi my george is 6 when he gets up in the morning his legs are very stiff and sore walks like a little old man bless him, i have started rubbing his legs b4 he gets out of bed just to help get them going, but he also has problems with handwritting it is not good at all, tryed loads of different pens pencils ect but no difference in his writing, also towards the end of evening his legs hurt again and if he has walk more than normal, any tips on what this could be, we are at consultants on fri for dx but not for any of the stiffness in his joints,
thanks

hi my son would live his live on the xbox and wii but he is only allowed 3 games a day 2 on his own and 1 with dad he will only play wwe games on them so we have to limit it as he gets very giddy and excitable while playing , i sometimes think he would climb in the telly while playing, his dad has put a line on the floor it is a dont cross this line rule but he gets so engrossed in the whole thing he has steped over it after 10 sec lol as for tv he would watch spongebob all day if we let him we have now got him to share tv but as soon as our progams are on he is up and down and shouting realy loud at his wwe toys so we carnt win or hear the tv so all in all i do think he watchs to much tv but it is like a bit of a break for us a bit naughty realy
