  1. hi my name is tracy and just wanted to talk to someone who understands. my eldest at 8 was diagnsed with hyperactivity about 2 years ago, but due to a strict diet and lots of hard work we have calmed him down enough to recently have him removed from the sen register, hurray!! however my youngest son josh is six and has several medical condidions, primarily he s a brittle asthmatic, which finally we seem to have under control after nearly 5 years (he was nearly one when he was diagnosed). He is also an insomniac and has attended sleep clinics the works including seeing camhs since he was about 2... It goes on, he has speech problems and sees a therapist weekly, can have violent outbursts and reacts very badly to changes around, picky eater... shall i go on? yes, well im sure you recognise the sytoms but no one around here did into speaking to a friend of a friend whos son has v similar symptoms, but he has a daignosis and thus support... so what i would like from you lovely people out there is the one piece of information that you wish someone had given you for dealing with a "special" child. im not unfamiliar with autism, as a teacher we have several autisitc children in our mainstream school, but its easier than dealing everyday... i really really would appreciate some feedback, so in advance, thankyou t
