  1. Hi, Does anybody else suffer mood swings? I don't mean in a bi-polar way, more like most of the time feel just normal getting on with life, then suddenly for no reason I seem to crash, doesn't seem to have any pattern as to time length, could be couple hours or a couple of days... It's not like I feel depressed either.. more like anger when I reflect. I seem to keep coming back to stress being the main trigger, as I know I don't cope with stress very well and do everything I can to avoid it but, with a 12yr old AS son that's not always possible as I'm sure most are you are aware... Thank You

Thanks to all, I have felt a sense of isolation for a while now but, have not really been able to recognise it in myself owing to, I think, being too emotionally involved, which is probably true of many carers when it is for close family members....maybe to give the best care you have to isolate yourself emotionally.. probably the hardest thing to do, but for me I am beginning to think it is the best way for me to give the best care for my son. Any thoughts are very welcome, I have a lot to consider.... Love and Light G
  3. Hi All, My name is Graham, I'm 55 years old and I am the primary carer for my 12 year old Aspergers Son and, to be frank have found myself here owing to finding myself unable to cope! Having been "on-call" for as long as I can remember I am in need of some respite! Fortunately I think I am on the right road to find some although, this isn't going to happen overnight! This has been a bit of a revelation for me (asking for help) as I always thought I could cope! funny how good it feels to have actually asked! a great weight off my shoulders, should have done it a long time ago. Regards to all Graham
