Hi I currently take Melatonin 3 mg capsules two at night ,OK I was justs wondering why isnt Melatonin medication licensed in the UK ?. And Ive only take the unlicensed form by my GP.Ive heard that there is only one licensed brand by a friend who gives there son who is also on the autism spectrum whitch is called Ciradin witch is slow release verison of Melatonin ?

Hi I have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I currently take a few medications such as Ritalin , Concerta XL and Risperidone .I am a little bit confused about my new updated prescription Melatonin at night time .My consultant psychiatrist wrote a letter to my GP about my updated medications but for some medical reason the consultant wanted me to have the Bio Melatonin 3 mg tablets , the letter but also I found out that when the GP changed it it now says on my repeat prescription Melatonin 3 mg capsules at night time ! and i should be taking Bio melatonin 3 mg tablets not the capsules strength , so should I contact my consultant if this isn't right on my repeats ?? sian
