hi all,
after some quircks, I do get to introduce myself..
I'm a 38yr old speech/language pathologist and also sensory information therapist.
Eventhough with that background having loads of knowledge and experiences with AS,
it took me till march 2011 to gain some oversight and perspective: Diagn Asperger last month
Somehow I work best with kids who can get frustrated easily..
They notice I respect them, I'm open and understand and address their need, eventhough I can't go along with that several times..The fact of being heard helps a lot.. I give clear choices and responsability, thus also see their self esteem grow
why I joined an English forum?! For I also have a sleeping disorder called cataplexy (thus narcolepsy, but not the whole package as in being able to fall asleep at any moment: I have muscle lapses in neck, face, arms when I suddenly have to laugh)
My neurologist knows it's rather common: AS and sleeping disorders. Though haven't met anyone with cataplexy and AS yet.. Thus I broadend my horizon
