Thanks mel this is some of the things k does: Jumps around shouts all the time Talks and sings to himself makes strange noises reinacts films and computer games waves arms around repeats things hes heard on games and films are these stims????

hi mel Ive tried that a few times were i try and get involved in his computer games with him (im no good at them) but i will sit on his bed and ask him things about what hes doing as i know he will go on forever about them if you let him. Though a couple of times ill of been there about 5 mins and he'll say "you can go downstairs now" What can i say to that?

Hi all Just wanted to mention something what happened today, after i collected k from school. My partner has just started a new shift at work, his days off are usually mon, tues however they are now, wed, thurs and everyday k asks where he is and where his brother is even though he gets the same answer everyday. Now k has no understanding of what day it is most of the time and its not that he does anything with my partner on these days, but today just as i was pulling up outside the house he asked who was at home when i said no-one the biggest petlip you have ever seen came out and he was almost in tears, "but i thought he wasnt at work today though" he said so i told him he was now off on a wed, thurs , ive never known him do that before, yet when i asked why he was upset he said he wasn't and went off to his room as usual. How do i work that one out any ideas?????

Hi tally Thanks for that, i just dont know how it does make him feel, he doesnt talk about it i just know it upsets me, he doesnt seem bothered by it i dont think, all he does mention sometimes is that the boys hit him, but ive been to the school already about this, its difficult trying to help him when he doesnt tell me whats going on its like going in blind folded. Last time i went they said they would keep an eye on him and then she turned to k and said we dont know if you dont tell us now do we!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now come on

My son shout all the time i've just gotten used to it, the school referred him for a hearing test as they thought, he may have hearing problems, which i knew he didnt have, just has selective hearing most of the time. I dont think he realises hes doing it most of the time but has to be asked quite alot to queiten down, but it doesnt last long.

K had one go out to his school the report read that he wa below average at nearly everything they tried, but they did not feel he needed any further support from them as they thought his problems were more connected to his development. What does that mean????

Yes hes been on quite a few including equysm, ritalin and now dexedrine why? Do you think this could be affecting it

IPSEA?????? As far as i know all they have done is referred him for that school and are waiting to hear back, and the only support he gets is one of the classroom helpers is with him for his lessons. However when i saw his specialist last she didnt know anything about the referral and said something about getting someone out to see me at home and to the school as if they want to send him there he must have more learning difficulties than she thought. Should they not be in touch with the school or vice versa, i have always thought that he doesnt get the help he needed from school. When he first started they put him back a year into the nursery and then stopped him from attending for his lunch as they said he was to badly behaved. I know its not solely the schools responsibility to look out for signs of difficultys in a child, however i would of thought that they would hhave a better idea of what to look for than me as i looked upon it as k's personality just him being him. Who do i speak to about a school action his class teacher? am i asking for one or if they;ve done one???

My k constantly has something in his mouth no matter what it is and i just cant seem to get him to stop, if he doesnt have anything in his hand he just puts his fingers in well more or less all of them, and has to wash them all the time, its got so bad all round his mouth is red and starting to get sore Any ideas????????

Thanks karen im sure ill work it out but its just difficult to work out whether its related to this or he just doesnt like it or want to do it

sorry all in seem todo is ask questions, but you never find out if you dont open your mouth. Ive seen a few of you talk about stims what are they????????? and why are they called that????????????/
