Bless you, I haven't seen you here or the other place recently?! Don't hesitate to PM me.

You are reacting in a totally normal way, I expect one day I will be the same...I try not to think to far ahead, cause it scares me and I have to zone out so I don't start worrying and fretting. Remember he will always love you intensely and unconditionally and you for him too. And remember to focus on all the good things you have lovingly taught your boy, thats what is so important...emphasis on what he CAN and WILL, not what he CAN'T and WON'T!

As for the family who make comments, sod them! You know your boy better than anybody else, and what they think doesn't matter!

Well Done to him for expressing himself so well! >:D<<'>:clap:

Always Here, if you need a rant! >:D<<'>

  2. OOOOooh, I like the sound of that t-shirt!

What about buying some cheap plain tees and some fabric felt pens or paints, and let your son design his own. It would be a fun task and he may create such a masterpiece he will willingly pass the "my mum rocks" top over!

  3. I just wanted to give you a >:D<<'>

The part about Jas's eyes really moved me. All I can say is that when Ellis was born and as he entered toddlerhood, he also had sparkly shining eyes and he too lost that, and he was empty and vacant eyed also.....it was so sad, we look back at photos around three years ago and you can see the ASD/GDD almost...it sounds odd, but you can see it, honestly.

I am happy to say that now after three years of knowing which path to take El down that now when I look into his eyes all I see is a sparky, cheeky, mischeivious, funny, loving and happy glint!

So please, keep on with trying to get a DX, with the right education, play, structure your little one will be all sparkly again! >:D<<'>

  4. You have done nothing wrong at all! You have just tried to get some much needed medication for your DS. You are a good Mum and the GP should be ashamed of himself, if this situation has been witnessed by him, he obviously kn ows that you are desperate.

I am disgusted by the GP and the receptionist....they have no idea!

Try and get a break now that your DH is back home...drink the whole bottle and try and sleep! >:D<<'>

  5. Thank so much to you all for your kind advice. I finally managed to complete that horrible DLA form with help from the CAB. It took about 2 hours to complete! It was a total nightmare. :wallbash: Anyway I got a letter back from them this morning saying that they are dealing with my claim. I also received a phone call from them last Thursday just to verify a few things. The guy I spoke to was really helpful & nice. So I should hear back from them soon!

If I am awarded DLA, does my Child Tax Credits automatically increase or do I have to contact them?

Only if you are awarded Higher Rate Care Component does the CTC increase. We are currently appealing for the Higher Rate on the advice of our son's consultant.

  8. Bard's brilliant post says it all!

It sounds as though you are totally exhausted and I understand totally how you can get to this point, the important bit is not losing control, but you are at the end of your tether and something had to give, I suppose... I really feel for you and I admire the fact you have posted what you have...Can't you show your OH this thread...you shouldn't be bearing the brunt alone, just because he can't face up to reality!

I just want to say... walk away, put headphones on, sunglasses, run outside and scream...take 5 mins away and then try again.

Take Care, and don't guilt trip yourself, but please ask for help from your family, its what they should be doing too! You need time out.

  9. Thanks Elun! >:D<<'>

My THINKING CAP has fallen off right now, but I will PM you, when I start functioning again!

As I type, I can hear El thumping around upstairs and making gahoooey noises!!!

It's gonna be a long night..........

....El Vino Time! Just the one!

I also agree that I would rather have QUALITY friends than QUANTITY friends!

It's nice to have acquaintances, but good friends will always be there and never judge...and they are few and far between, so cherish the ones that are genuine!

  11. ASue,

Gosh, that sounds pretty scary! Oooh, maybe I'm only experiencing the CALM before the STORM?!

But, yes it is sooo hard trying to find a sitter you can trust and who you can ensure can handle any difficulties isn't it?!

I have my parents close by, so they help out when we need a break for a few hours, and also in the past I found I didn't want to leave El with anybody....I felt like I was abandoning him, so didn't have a night out in two years!

Then last year we started by going out for meals out, and my folks would sit in our house whilst we went out, then this year we have had a weekend away, I went on two overnight hen nights and a weekend away at a wedding, the kids loved being with the Gramps and we loved being R & Lisa for a short time....no child talk was allowed!

Be Brave and try again! You are doing a great job, I take my hat off to you and other single mums....Keep Strong! >:D<<'>

  12. Anna,

    Cheers again!

Yep, El does not have any stranger danger awareness at all!, We have had instances when out when he has approached other women and even men with prams, obviously thinking they are safe like me and his Dad! He also takes shines to certain people espesh blonde ladies!!!, and elderley women with tights on! (he likes the feel of nylon!! )

I am going to put some stuff down on paper later and we have the CAB to see tomorrow, hopefully I can get together strong and justifiable reasons for wanting this reviewed!

    Thanks

    Lisa x

  13. Hi ASue,

Sorry your night was ruined, but you make sure you go on that Crimbo do, you deserve to let your hair down! >:D<<'>

I know how you feel to an extent, in the past we would never be able to go to social events beacuse El would just scream, everybody would stare and we would just leave cause we got so fed up of trying to explain and excuse El's meltdowns, and then the sympathetic looks would start and irriate me, cause we just wanted to be normal! ...er, what's that? ;)

Anyway last year we finally had a breakthrough....my Mum and Dad decided to finally get wed after 30 plus years and well, I wasn't missing that for anything! We attended the wedding from 11am-4pm, then went home so El could rest and recharge, and then went back at 7pm-11.30pm!!!!!!!!!! This was a massive event for El, but he loved it. We discovered he loved Disco lights, dancing and removing his top and stimming/boogieing with older ladies while he danced like a rhythmless DAD!!!:lol::lol:

We practically had to drag him off the dancefloor, and it was lovely......loads of friends and family saying how sweet he was and if we ever wanted babysitters they would help!.........if only they knew the truth!

We have since done a christening and my uncle's 60th, El was so taken by the cabaret singer that he lay on the stage on his belly watching the act, up close and bit too personal (the singer was great about him!)

But, as unpredictable as ever...as his birthday party a fortnight ago, he hid in the car for the first hour...think he was overwhelmed! :crying::rolleyes:

Take Care, and do something nice and fun for YOU!

    Lisa xx
