  1. Does your child like Thomas the Tank Engine and Barney the Dinosaur? Would s/he find it fun to play on a computer? Is your child aged between 18 months and 4 years? Does s/he have an Autism Spectrum Condition diagnosis? If you answered Yes to these questions then your child is eligible for this study looking at attention and perception in children. The study takes approximately 2 hours and involves a visit to Cambridge University at a time that suits you. Your child will be seated in front of a computer where your child has to find Barney the dinosaur, and where clips of Thomas the Tank Engine are used to keep your child?s attention. If interested please email Laura Rosen on lyr21@cam.ac.uk Or call 01223 746 062 for more information. Hi All /Laura - We've pinned this topic to keep it at the top of the board... Laura's research is targeted specifically at very young children on the spectrum, and is investigating superior visual attention in young children with autism as a possible flag for early diagnosis. Given the problems many members have highlighted with professionals who take the 'wait and see' approach, any reliable early indicators would seem beneficial. [/color] As always, we would add that the mod/admin team does not offer endorsements of any research or product, but we do wish Laura well with her research. Members could also contact Laura using the Personal messaging system, of course. [mod/admin team]
