    are you sure we cant use rude words on this forum?

     

    Oh well just as well really.

     

    People like that need to live with a family with a child/children with AS/ASD. What gives her the right to accuse us of being bad parents...we spend all our time trying to do what is right for our kids and then you get some stupid woman, whose children I am sure are little angels !?!?!, telling us what we do right or wrong.

     

    no wonder we have so many problems with people reading c**p like that.

    Hi have just paid for Jamie's (nt) individual jabs with a company called Direct Health 2000 if you go on line and type that in you will find their web site, fill the details in and they will send you a form. They do clinics pretty much all over as far as I know but you might have to check if it is in your area. I am paying ?345 for the three jabs. Worth it for me tho.

     

    Best of luck and you will make the right choice for you and your child.

    Glad to hear that you have a diagnosis albeit a little unclear. Take your time and be prepared a for a lot of mixed emotions - mine are still all over the place nearly two years after diagnosis - you are on the best site for help and information.

    Very difficult one. I have decided that JJ (ASD) is not having his booster and his brother (NT) is having the jabs done individually.

     

    I dont think it causes ASD but sure as hell makes it worse.

     

    If you want the individual jabs type in Directhealth 2000 and they do clinics all over the place, I am paying ?320 for my baby to have his but it is worth it to me.

     

    hope you can decide what to do and remember it is your child who you have to look after not some stupid HV who thinks she knows best.

    lots of luck - took me a while but i did it eventually.

     

    For the questions that asked for minutes I put that i could not give a detailed time as each time was different and that it could be from x minutes to x minutes as a rough guide or when I got fed up with writing that I put "as long as it takes"!

    I agree with what has been said above.

     

    For me and my ds special school was really the only option. As he is pretty much non-verbal the thought of putting him in mainstream school scared me to death. Worried about bullying and him just not making progress, he cannot cope with lots of noise and distractions. We were very lucky to get him a place at a local special school which he starts at in September. Go with your gut instinct as everyone else has said

    Am struggling with "nobody nowhere" probably because it is all a little to close for comfort! Have perservered and am nearly at the end. Have laughed and cried reading this.

    I had a lovely card which Julian had tried to write his name in (with a lot of help from daddy) and daddy had signed Jamie's name and a plant pot of african violets!

     

    ohh bless makes me well up thinking of it! me a mummy! :rolleyes:

    I have just been recommened this book by the behavioural psychologist and i was too wondering whether or not to read it as JJ is ASD rather than AS. I have got it and intend to start reading it when I have finised reading Donna Williams "nobody nowhere".

     

    Any other good books than can be recommended would be appreciated.

    Had first meeting with BP on Monday and he has asked us to go back without Julian. He has indicated that he wishes to discuss what is likely to happen in the near future with Julian. He is a very nice man and he was very good with Julian,. just a bit nervous at what he is going to say.

     

    Any hints or advice?

    This subject is such a minefield.

     

    My head spins whenever I think too hard about it.

     

    I am sure that the MMR made Julian's autism so much worse - he was always slightly odd as a baby so think it may be something he was born with.

     

    I am not having Jamie's MMR done in the triple and am looking at getting them done individually.

     

    People tell me not to be selfish and that if Julian has his mmr then it is better he regresses than gets measles. (I am sure some of you will remember the thread about that one!).

     

    no one said being a parent was easy. :crying:

    Blue eyes all round here both boys (Julian ASD and Jamie NT) have the longest eyelashes you have ever seen. The comments I get about their eyes are non-stop. Jamie has one eye that is entirely blue and one eye that is three quarters blue and one quarter brown!
