  1. We were all going bowling yesterday(Sunday). My son 15yrs 5ft 8",my hubby and me.Just before we went I asked son "do you want to go brush your teeth( hadn't brushed since friday) and comb your hair"?( really greasy and long , way past his shoulders)

He answered" No thats ok I'm fine". I asked instead of telling him.Big mistake when I realised it was too late, coz when I said they need doing he threw a fit and said I asked and he answered.HUbby was about to insist, but I said to h*ll with it and he went the way he was.

Well the world hasn't stopped turning and I avoided meltdown and we had great fun.Son even commented on the game when we came back and said he enjoyed it.

I didn't kick off at him for not doing as I asked and no one took a bit of notice of him...I must be learning.

  2. Jaded, maybe you should read some of timelords posts.Especially the two I quoted. I don't have a problem with him expressing an opinion but likewise am entitled to mine. It's the confusing contradictions I have a problem with.

Also we seem to be going off topic, maybe we should get back to advice for nikrix.

Sorry Nikrix.I am sure some of us were just trying to see that you get the right advice.

Did you ring the consultant yet?

  3. I just wanted to say,I visit this site every day. sometimes I post and sometimes I don't ( seem to be on a roll this week ,your probably all sick of me by now).

Anyway when I am down I try not to post too much as I don't want to bring everyone down with me, but if I post with a problem there's always an answer.

I live in ireland and I post locally over here but not as much as on this forum.I also drop in and out to other forums but always come back here it feels like home.

You all seem like such a wonderful bunch of people. Thankyou for being my light in the dark and for the fun some of the posts can put into my day.

If I need advice ,I can get it.

If I want a laugh,I can depend on it.

If I feel like a debate(friendly) I'm sure to find one,

and if I am in a soppy mood ,I can post this dribble :crying::lol:

    Seriously though >:D<<'> THANKYOU ALL!

  4. I don't see mine that often .She never really had any time for my kids especially AS son ,so I don't have much time for her, sadly she seems to have seen the error of her ways ,kids won't visit her either( not my doing,I have always encouraged them to keep in touch) they used to go with hubby who visits once a week, but got fed up being ignored/patronised.I also used to invite her round, she never came much after AS son was starting to show problems. I have tried to make the effort with her but find I can't as her realisation has come to late for me.

  5. My daughter ( NT) 17 yrs old has been a right pain lately. One day she is normal the next she is moaning at or about AS son amongst other things ,there's a long list. She doesn't seem depressed and can turn the mood on and off depending on how much attention she is getting.

She has started copying my younger As sons rude behaviour ,he is even rolling his eyes and calling her childish.

She has always been a little jealous of him and watches what everyone gets and throws a fit if she thinks she's missed out ,she never is left out,but has always been a bit demanding.Hubby thinks she is spoiled and so does older son.I would like to think different but now I worry that in trying to make up for all the time given to AS son I have turned into her slave/money tree.

I know she doesn't have a lot of confidence, doesn't think she is pretty enough etc. she can get very stroppy when she doesn't get her own way but is all over me when I am doing what she wants.I love her to bits but worry if there is something wrong. She is doing very well in college and I have told her how pleased I am. Now I feel I have totally ruined her. She is rude and abusive to me today but would be ever so nice tomorrow if she needed to be brought somewhere/collected/wanted money/a cup of tea/her dinner you name it.

Thing is I thought we got on great went places together and were like sisters, but hubby says she is only like that when I am giving her all the attention. She would moan at me to go somewhere with her ,even if we'd been out all day and sulk if I couldn't go,but if a friend calls then she goes off without a second thought about me.( which is good ,she should be with friends) hubby thinks this is being selfish. He also thinks I am at her beck and call and should stop doing so much for her. When I said I feel guilty about spending so much time with AS son, hubby said she knows this and is just pressing all the right buttons with me.

Just want to add this same girl often buys me little presents for no reason. As she is not working I give her pocket money but after she was very rude to me this evening I told her it stops until I get an apology.

    Am I being to hard?

By the way things going great with my AS son at the moment. BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!!

  6. Timelord

Sorry you feel like that.I don't know any background behind why you should feel like this as i have not been following your threads but I just wanted to send you some of these >:D<<'> >:D<<'> >:D<<'> and urge you to continue posting to try to get the help and support you need.

    Take care

Ceecee, Timelord doesn't seem to want help and support but appears to be here to help and advise, sadly the advice is conflicting and contradictory. Also he feels what he has been told is right and no-one seems to be allowed to say any different. Sorry to be so blunt, but nobody needs to be listening to outdated advice from so called experts like the ones that advised Timelord and it may even upset some who are on the early road of dx.

  7. when our son was diagnosed as having aspergers, we were told, that unless he received the correct treatment, he would develop scizhophrenia. as apparentlt 90% of as sufferers do?? lo and behold at the age of 23 he was diagnosed with paranoid scizhophrenia. but no doubt someone here will tell me that the doctors are wrong. to cut a long story short, he was sectioned, and has spent the last 3 years in hospital, now, with the correct treatment, he is due for discharge later this year.

thanks lucas, after 3 years in hospital, and at the age of 26 our son has just been diagnosed as having aspergers, it has been a long hsrd fight, but we got there in the end. this is one of the problems living on an island away from the mainland, and decent medical services, it takes extreme action to get the help on eneeds. as for the schizophrenia, this diagniosis came about after, our son , upon hearing voices, out all his furniture out into the street, then proceeded to dig up the drying whirlygig in his garden ,mwhich was by the way, embedded in 4 feet of concrete.

Timelord, maybe I am wrong in my last post, but, the above statements completely contradict each other, maybe you could clarify?

  8. like i have said, i can only go by the personal experiences we have had with our son over the past 26 years, and the professional advice we have received. but when i post here i get shot down in flames, this is not so much a help and advice site, as an i am right site for lucas. so sorry to say this will be my last post here. i can help others elsewhere.

Timelord ,your posts are contadictory .you said your son was dx years ago, then said he was dx recently? Also I believe( which is my right) the professional advice you were given was wrong ,regarding a good percentage of people with AS eventually becoming schizophrenic!.This IS a help and advice site and a good one too.If this is your last post then so be it,but no one attacked you personally, people are entitled to disagree with your opinion or advice you have been given in the past. It's called freedom of speech.I agree with Lucas but I would go so far as to say the your differing reports on your sons condition and dx leave some unanswered questions as to the truth of your statements.Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
