  1. Hmm... remove each device one by one and try to isolate things in case it is one phone causing th problem...leave the modem till last. Also make sure you use the connection cable supplied with the modem - not just the one you had there before.

  2. Karen is right. To name the school in a statement the school have to agree to him going there. That is why the current head said talk to the LEA SEN dept. The prspective school and the LEA then make the necessary arrangements to take him - providing the school agree. Your next move is to tell the LEA the name of this school if it is the one you want and they then take over. Because of your own AS someone should be advising you through this procedure (parent partnership are the people who should do this).

    Hope that helps.

  3. It is something you need to sort out together. You and the school have to act as one, giving the same message the same way. If you don't she will get mixed messages and not know where she stands. Karen is right, between you you need to get to the cause of this - there is one somewhere.

  4. It's news to me.

No IEPs except for those on statements...hmm.

To get considered for a statement normally going through stages of support and intervention which involve School Action and then School Action + both of which, as far as I am aware, involve an IEP which set achivement targets for each child when these are not reached it moves the support up a level of support, the top level being a statement. No IEPs means no targets to meet...therefore no close record of achievement to base a statement request on...so how will anybody get a statement - this ARE still issued and ARE, as we know, still enforcable!

  5. PP service is supposed to be run 'at arms length' from the LEA. Best practice would be a bought in service based away from the LEA itself. Sadly this happens very rarely. PP are funded by the LEA, the service is a reuirement under one of the education acts (which one escapes me right now). Some are run well and as they should be, others sadly are not. If your PP is a good one then yes share with them. They are supposed to be there to help you and provide you with information on whatever your difficulty is. They can only do this effectively if they are aware of everything. That said if they are going to run to the LEA and tell them what your grounds for appeal are etc - don't!

  6. You need a braodband filter on every phone jackpoint. If you don't have enough (don't forget the Sky box if you have one) unplug the ones that are not filtered and it ought to clear the line. Most ISPs provide a couple and they can be bought from most of the DIY outlet stores.
