tmf Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Hi Sorry if i appear ignorant, it really isn't my intention. I have been away from the forum quite some time now and brain a bit frazzled with abbreviations! Who or what is CAMHS? I have just been advised to see them, but without knowing who/what they are feel a bit bewildered....can any1 shed some light for me please. Thank you tmf x
Kathryn Report post Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Hi tmf This is from the forum "Jargon Buster" - the link is at the top right corner if there's anything else you need to know. CAMHS: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service are organised on a locality basis. These services are staffed by health professionals who specialise in working with young people and families who are experiencing emotional, developmental and psychiatric problems. Referrals to these services are normally made via your G.P. or other members of the Primary Health Care team. http://www.camhs.org.uk/ Hope this helps, K x Post edited by Nellie to update website.
