oh it just gets worse

Dave rang the PRU to see if M,s tutor was coming today.

The man who answered the phone said yes.

she usually comes between 2.30-3pm.

today we took M out for lunch as a treat, Dave and M got back just before 2.30pm.

There was a message on the answerphone asking to call the PRU so he did.

He was told that the tutor turned up at 1.15pm, when Dave asked why she told him cos

she has had a letter from her boss saying to up M,s hours to 2.3 on a tuesday.

Dave said this was tried last year and it made him ill and why havent we had a letter?

she sympathised.

Last year we and our psych wrote a letter saying that 2.5 hours was too long and that on one

occasion M had started self-harming as he couldnt take 2.5 hours 1-2-1 (he struggles with concentration)

he has now been out of school for nearly 2 years, they are doing this cos the exec director has heard of

whats going on and presumably he has said up the hours to min of 5 a week which we dont mind BUT, it would be better

for them to do it an hour a day as we suggested to them last year.

they said they dont have the staff.

IPSEA told me thats not our problem, here you have a boy who has had a severe mental health breakdown, no IEP set up

and they want to place him in a situation that made him ill before?
