YHA, Heritage and National Trust

Recommended Posts

Was talking to a couple of people yesterday about the fact you can save money by using the non-English versions of some of the organisations:

For instance the Scottish Youth Hostel Association costs 8 a year for adults and is free for Juniors. Compared to the English one that costs 15.95, again children under 16 are free. Also a life membership from SYHA is only 80 (for any age group). Whilst the English one is 210.

For the National Trust (using direct debit figures) it is 14.62 for a child/young person and 32.62 for an individual or a family costs 58.12. The scottish one is 11.25 for an under 25, 30 for an individual and 48.75 for a family.

Been rushed at the moment so can't remember what the Heritage ones are called. From memory the Welsh one works out cheaper.

All these you can join even if you don't live in that country. They also allow you access to all the locations in the other countries and in the case of the YHA in hostels throughout Europe.

I hope you don't mind me posting this. Just thought it might save a few individuals quite a bit of money.

David.
