Tally Report post Posted March 31, 2008 Saw this car in town yesterday. I think it's a Peugeot 404. I don't know whether it would actually have been a police car. You can see the police hat on the back shelf. And yes, it is parked on a double yellow Apologies for the quality, it's only a camera phone. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/Tallu...0/PoliceCar.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/Tallu.../PolicaCar2.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/Tallu.../PoliceCar3.jpg

mossgrove Report post Posted March 31, 2008 (edited) It is a former police car, but it's left hand drive so can't have been in the UK. A quick google reveals it is french! The dinky toy version is shown at the following link: http://www.rowleyfineart.com/pics/05-04-20/83.jpg Simon PS: Did anyone else notice the traffic cone on top of the statue in the first picture? baddad Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Student's week? Filming an episode of 'The green green grass'? A freak 'ashes to ashes' stylee timeslip in the wrong direction and (according to Mossgrove's input) a slight sideways shift in the first three dimensions to account for 23 miles or so of brine? Perhaps the yellow lines weren't there when they parked...... BD
Tally Report post Posted April 1, 2008 It is indeed French, manufactured in 1971, and imported only last year. Peugeot 404s were commonly used as Police cars in France. I don't know what it was doing around here though. I don't know how someone got the traffic cone all the way up there! A few years ago someone painted footprints from the foot of the same statue, across the road, and into the public toilet opposite!
