Classic Car

Recommended Posts

Saw this car in town yesterday. I think it's a Peugeot 404. I don't know whether it would actually have been a police car. You can see the police hat on the back shelf. And yes, it is parked on a double yellow  Apologies for the quality, it's only a camera phone.

It is a former police car, but it's left hand drive so can't have been in the UK.

A quick google reveals it is french! The dinky toy version is shown at the following link:

PS: Did anyone else notice the traffic cone on top of the statue in the first picture?

Student's week?

Filming an episode of 'The green green grass'?

A freak 'ashes to ashes' stylee timeslip in the wrong direction and (according to Mossgrove's input) a slight sideways shift in the first three dimensions to account for 23 miles or so of brine?

Perhaps the yellow lines weren't there when they parked......

BD :D

It is indeed French, manufactured in 1971, and imported only last year. Peugeot 404s were commonly used as Police cars in France.

I don't know what it was doing around here though.

I don't know how someone got the traffic cone all the way up there! A few years ago someone painted footprints from the foot of the same statue, across the road, and into the public toilet opposite!
