baddad Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Hiya - we were shopping yesterday and saw a boardgame called 'Chalenj' (sha-longe) reduced to half price (12.00). As son is keen on board games we thought we'd give it a go, and we had our first 'sha-longe' today... Anyway, it's a bit of a mix-and-match sort of game - not complicated at all, but a bit 'fussy' - but it could be great fun and very helpful for kids with poor coordination etc 'cos the physical challenges include things like hopping on one leg/ball catching/crab-walking etc and some good 'stretching' exercises. It was good fun - B was in fits over some of the challenges and i was in fits seeing him in fits over some of the challenges - and it also includes other stuff like basic maths/spelling/reading/problem solving etc. You'd probably have to amend the rules a bit and be a bit creative about how challenges were set/met, depending on the childs skills in various areas, but played among peers or within an accommodating group it could really help make some aspects of learning fun. Challenges are all timed with a 30 second timer, so it's not likely to get too frustrating either. Would defintely be disappointed if we'd paid full price for it, but at half price it was a bit of a bargain! L&P BD:D
