I was shocked at the lack of knowledge and what people were saying about it. So thought I would post them a message explaining a little about it. but I am not too good at putting things into words, so let me know what you think, or what else I should add before sharing it with others. Asperger Syndrome (AS) AS is a form of autism. The main problem for AS people is social interaction and communication. They may have difficulties in the following areas: *undestanding social rules - social situations unsure of how to act *starting/ending conversations, or knowing what to discuss *understanding facial expressions and body language *struggle to make and keep friends *struggle to understand jokes, sarcasm and metaphors. *expressing themselves emotionally *understanding how other people feel *knowing how to react to other peoples emotions A person who has Aspergers can also: * be very honest - if someone asks do you like my new hair style they may be honest and say no I don't * intellegent with an average or above average IQ * love routine and structure * have a special interest which they become an expert in
