Tally Report post Posted September 13, 2009 I can't help with STEPS I'm afraid. Have you tried Google? As for occupational therapists, they have a very wide remit and deal with a huge variety of disabilities. They help you find ways to do every day tasks your disability causes you to struggle with. It would be different for every person, even two people with the same disability might prefer to use different coping methods. An autistic person might have trouble remembering when to take something out of the oven, so an OT could help you find a timer and teach you to use it so that you remember to take things out of the oven on time. An autistic person might not cope without a clear routine to their day, so an OT could help you make a timetable that suits your individual needs. An OT can also train you to use specially adapted tools.
