Sally44 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Got the LEA EP report this morning. It confirms the diagnosis of dyslexia. But does not say anything about how they will meet this need. It does state he does not need a specialist teacher and should not be removed from the class for 1:1 tuition. So basically more of the same that is not working. The private reports have been disregarded because they are over a year old. The assessments carried out are just for reading and basic numeracy concepts, nothing in his areas of strength. I shall submit my parental comments, and then see what the Proposed Statement looks like. That should be interesting. As I presume they will wipe off all the recommendations made in the previous reports that were included in the previous Statement?? And there was no need for this re-assessment. I'm just so annoyed about that. I feel the LEA did this deliberately so that they could get out of the requirement for specialist teaching and an appropriate literacy programme. And the LEA inclusion officer said they were happy to include the private reports I had, but they did say that if we went to tribunal that Panel might wanted up to date ones.
