AFunnyThingHappened Report post Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Hi everyone I thought I would pop in and say hello and introduce myeself. I am 48 and have recently found out I have Aspergers. This may sound odd to say, but I am delighted! The reason being that it suddenly explains so much of my past that till now was not clear. I always knew I felt 'different' and was as clumsy as you like socially to the point I am not social at all. I do not mean I am antisocial in the sense, just I do not socialise. I have physical disabilities, namely arthrits of my spine which is the worst of them. I can walk, but get a lot of pain after a very short time. My first port of call, after doing some online tests and eventually having a formal diagnosis via my LEA, is to start finding out more. I have also joined here so I can hopefully learn and get on with being an Aspie. Anyway, I will stop there for now. I can talk the hind legs of a donkey if allowed, so let me just shut up for a minute and do some reading. Thanks for letting me join. I hope I will be able to contribute wisely as well as listen. James. ps... oh that is odd! Having just posted this I see I am in 'Norfolk Broads!'. I am not, I am in Nottingham. Why does it think I am in Norfolk? AFunnyThingHappened Report post Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks for the welcome. I am very surprised that after almost 24 hours, only ONE person can say hello. I found it hard enough to muster up the will to join. Not really my cup of tea if nobody speaks here. i have that in the real world and don't really need it in cyberspace too. I will look for a site where a little more happens I think.
Tally Report post Posted August 4, 2010 Well I am not going to account for my whereabouts during the last 24 hours, but there is always a bit of a lull on the forum during the school holidays. I hope you find a forum where the people will be more attentive.

But I know from using other forums that you don't get many people using them this time of the year. Anyway, hello James, and welcome.

Give us a chance, we all have busy lives and not always time to get to our computers (as much as we would like to). Danaxxx
