Sally44 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 I've been looking through Jim Roses Reading Review report 2006. He states that there are "mandatory qualifications for teachers of children with sensory impairment". So what is the definition of sensory impairment. Would sensory integration disorder be included in that?
Karen A Report post Posted October 28, 2010 Hi. I am not certain but don't think so. Sensory Impaiment usually includes visual impairment such as partial or complete sight loss and hearing impairment such as significant hearing loss. I think Sensory Integration Disorder is probably regarded as a Specific Learning difficulty. Karen.
