Karen A Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Hi. I am looking for some information on the ''Mental Incapacity Act''. I am hoping to find out how the act relates to people with dementia. However I have read that it also applies to some people with a learning disability.I would appreciate a link to a web site that is easy to understand for a none legal person. Thanks

MBF Report post Posted November 23, 2010 I found this http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/+/www.direct.gov.uk/en/disabledpeople/healthandsupport/yourrightsinhealth/dg_10016888 I think that it is called the Mental Capacity Act maybe? You have to prove that someone lacks capacity and as such everyone is treated as if they have capacity. I hope this helps as there are lots of links on this page.
