coppertree Report post Posted July 13, 2012 Hi, my name is Alex and I have just been diagnosed with AS at the ripe old age of 40 Just trying to get my head around everything - making sense of the last 35 years, trying to cope with what I now know are 'meltdowns', not depression, bipolar or a mood disorder without any medical help (our pct doesn't provide any funding for AS adults) and trying to come off the meds that were given to me when I was 'depressed' - fluoxetine and bipolar type 2 - lamotrigine. That's where I am at the moment, glad to have found this forum
indiscreet Report post Posted July 13, 2012 Hi Alex - and welcome. There are quite a number of adults on here who have been diagnosed with AS, although getting a dx when you are 'mature' isn't easy.
