Should he see a specialist about toileting issues?

Recommended Posts

Hi, sorry if TMI but quite worried and need to ask.

Jack really doesnt have a clue when hes done a poo. He had done one yesterday in pull up and i could smell it so asked him if he had, he said "no". So i had a look and said yes you have. Jack responded in a supprised voice "have i?"

Then i asked him if he knew he could feel that it was in his nappy and he said he couldnt.

He also pooed in the bath and didnt even notice!!

I am wondering if this needs further medical investigation seperate to asd stuff by a specialist as he cant feel when he need to or has done a poo.

Is this part of asd or is it something else??

Thanks, and sorry again for TMI!

I f you are concerned yes, I would definitely see your GP for a referral.Have you had a google on the internet to see if you can gather anymore info ?I had a friend whose son held his poo in and would,nt toilet .However I have,nt heard of this before. It could be a sensory thing.
