right or wrong

Recommended Posts

Been having a few days of 'normal' behaviour followed by a few outsbursts and wondering AGAIN whether I should be looking for assessment of B when I came accross this site

http://www.ddleadership.org/aspergers/index.html

and read this>>>

Asperger?s Syndrome is a heterogeneous disorder. Some individuals with the disorder are quite impaired in their functioning, while others display few limitations. The disorder includes those unable to work, as well as those at the top of their fields. There is also tremendous unpredictability and variability to the disorder. Some days functioning may be much more impaired than others. Consequently, one cannot assume a child with Asperger?s has resolved a particular difficulty because he has had an especially good period of functioning. This comment should not be construed to mean individuals with Asperger?s cannot overcome difficulties; they certainly can and do. However, the ride to this resolution is often a bumpy one.

Now I know my I will stay resolute at my app on the 17th so that B can move forward and finally know whether her approach to life is due to AS or not.

If you have concerns, stick to the appointment. It took me 4yrs to get my Pead to refer my son and finally after I took in bucket loads of filled in questionaires from myself and school, did she finally refer her although she was hesitant. Seen the Autism specialist who confirmed that there are concerns sohopefully, we'll know one way or another within a few months or so.

Stick with it. At least at the end of the process, you'll have a 'Yes' or a 'No' rather than 'Is she??'

All the very best. :)
