Gold MD Report post Posted August 29, 2023 No. They are actually very rare in Scotland. The grey ones can cause the red squirrels to die off, due to a disease they are known to spread. So if you should capture a grey squirrel, it's apparently unlawful to release the cute wee thing into the wild. I would let it go, when nobody is looking.
