Hi Dorset Knobs

 

On tuesday evening, there is a meeting in Poole with the Head of Pupil Parent and Youth Services, the Councillor with the Education Portfolio, and an Educational Psychologist from Poole LEA whose specialism is ASD's. and also a new member of the Cahms team who is an ASD specialist.

 

I know the first few guys will not be that relevant to you guys who come under Dorset CC, but if your child is under any of the Consultants at the CDC at Poole Hospital, then ***** from Cahms could be your person. I spoke to *** today and heard enthusiasm.

 

I am hoping that there will also be a representative from Barnardos who is trying to set up access to games, activity and play for our kids. She also has a lot of experience with Early Years.

 

Supersec - my friend, the head of early years, at Portfield will be there - it might be nice for you to meet her.

 

It would be nice if some of you guys could make it - especially as I am trying to forge some links between our group and the Thursday morning Group in Christchurch. We meet at the Salvation Army Citadel, Hill Street, Poole and it is only a few hundred yards from the quay. We start around 7.15 p.m. and it is for parents and carers. It is not open to children as the parents like to be able to discuss freely, the problems that they encounter.

 

PM me if you would like any further information. If you don't fancy this Tuesdays event, then the next meeting will be on the third tuesday in January - same venue.

Please indulge me - I have bumped this up just in case there is anyone who is a bit shy and who missed it because there have been loads of postings since.
